Here the grapes have a unique taste and aroma.

The fame of this marvellous corner of the world and its wine inspired many myths and legends: “God, seeing the Gulf of Naples as a strip of sky removed by Lucifer, cried and the vine of Lacryma Christi was born where the divine tears fell”. Curzio Malaparte took this legend and in La pelle he invites us to drink “this sacred, ancient wine”.

The production area only includes the wine-growing areas of 15 municipalities in the province of Naples, located on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, where the vineyards host native varieties, which have always been cultivated in this area, such as Caprettone and Falanghina.

        Archivio fotografico Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio

Production areas

Boscotrecase, Trecase, San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, Ottaviano, San Giuseppe Vesuviano, Terzigno, Boscoreale, Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Portici, Cercola, Pollena Trocchia, Sant'Anastasia and Somma Vesuviana.

White Lacryma Christi

Colour: from light straw-yellow to straw-yellow;
Smell: pleasant;
Taste: dry, slightly acidic;
Vines: Coda di volpe bianca (also called Caprettone) and / or Verdeca (min 80%), Falanghina and / or Greco (max 20%);
Alcohol content: 12% vol.

Dishes to match: sautéed clams, fish soup, seafood risotto, shellfish, vegetable dishes with fresh and soft cheese;
